Real capitalism? Having a govt competitor is unfair competition and will drive out the private sector.
If you want real capitalism then we have to have an honest govt that won’t be bought out by lobbyists.
what do you know about profit? profit is the driving force of incentives and efficient resource allocation.
do you even know how many people misuse health insurance. let’s not forget about malpractice premiums, etc. we have to address these areas.

Stewart’s trap is pretty damning to anyone who opposes universal health care. It’s impossible to conclude that we are unable to provide care without saying that our care of soldiers is inadequate. Crystal’s claim that it is too expensive to be extended to the public ignores the price that the public already pays to insurance companies & out of pocket.
Crystal is a shill for health ins. co’s who don’t want to lose their businesses. You can’t blame ins. co’s for not wanting to go out of business.

i don’t see how this is “destroying bill kristol” … he makes a point .. one can parade around it in silly overtures .. but the question is .. just because you should provide expensive health care to the military should you do the same for civilians .. if civilians choose to go fight wars in foreign lands as government employees then probably they should .. otherwise i really don’t see a connection other than pandering to masses

it’s unfortunate that the media provide so much attention to these controversial figures instead of giving more time to rational republican leaders.

You see from our view all we see is the likes of hanitty, coulter, kristol, palin, limbaugh and beck on one side then when we look at the other side we see the ten birther republican congressmen, who were elected. Based on that how are we as American voters suppose to listen to any thing that is coming from the rpublican leadership now? Seriously they are all one step away from prozac and the looney bin.

Kristol doesn’t want the VA to have more funding w/ tax dollars so he has to say it’s great as it is.
But then why wouldn’t Mr. Kristol want that for all?
Well, the reason is simple – he doesn’t believe everyone is equal.
Kristol believes that 1 of his rich buddies shouldn’t have to wait to see a doctor because the doctor is taking care of a little poor black child.

@TranceLakersLife: Well said. That’s my main problem with the system — the profit motive and health care do not seem compatible, at least in a half-open market like we have. But to take a libertarian look at it, what we have now is not truly an open market. Maybe the profit motive would work better in an open health care market where you could see the costs openly?
I don’t have a lot of faith in that happening, and don’t really know that it would work, though.
