Kennedy came in third (behind Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mother Teresa) in a Gallup list of the most admired people of the twentieth century.
He was posthumously awarded the Pacem in Terris Award. It was named after a 1963 encyclical letter by Pope John XXIII that calls upon all people of goodwill to secure peace among all nations. Pacem in Terris is Latin for ‘Peace on Earth.’

You stooge Mellow jello! JFK and Kruschev had a good relationship in November of ’63. JFK through his actions, whatever they were, had gained the respect of the old Russian leader. But peace is not what the big boys wanted so for that and other reasons, the federal reserve, no Nam, disbanding the CIA, end to the oil depletion allowance etc etc JFK had to go. JFK was a leader who put the people first, instead of the rich the powerful or the Military Ind. Complex that Ike warned us about.

never read a Schlesinger (not Schlessinger) book. but i have always wanted to read A Thousand Days: John F. Kennedy in the White House because he witnessed it firsthand.

2. John F. Kennedy on Leadership: The Lessons and Legacy of a President by John A. Barnes

just because i never read them doesn’t mean i don’t know about them and i totally believe the pentagon papers because they are history of the US’s involvement in the vietnam war and it was made by the Department of Defense. i think its release helped speed up the end of the vietnam war by putting pressure on the Nixon administration. its amazing how much of my life you are ASSUMING about even though you know nothing about my life.
By Anzal07 on Apr 23, 2009
no he is trying to lighten the mood and having a good sense of humor is essential. idiot. i hate you so much its amazing.

JFK and RFK wiretapped MLK to make sure he wasn’t a communist, get it straight. never said i didn’t like Ted (i like him alot) Sorensen but you can’t give him the entire credit for the speeches. Like the TVA speech Ted wrote it but JFK went to speak while Ted had the only copy of the speech in the car he was in. Ted said “its amazing how much that man knows about the TVA.”

i have read books before. here you go again ASSUMING things about my life you have no idea about.

JFK had thrown his back out while saving a comrade on his PT-109 boat that was attacked by a Japanese destroyer. That is what you call heroism. marilyn didn’t have floozies she had ex-husbands. not to mention it is impossible to have “thousands of other floozies”. Jackie had married Onasis shortly after RFK’s assassination ALRIGHT. keep your sexual fantasies to your self pervert.

what power did judith or giancanni have to put the entire country in danger? she had no power, giancanni had his mobsters on lock but no one else. you have no proof the giancanni and JFK were working together even Judith never brought that to light. there are alot of things he could have been blackmailed for not just her.

you are a BIG BIG idiot. it is stated clearly on history books on the topic of the Bay of Pigs that their job was to invade cuba and convince the natives to start a rebellion against Castro. jeez what is wrong with you that you have to tell such a lie that can easily be proven wrong. be creative with your lies atleast.
By Anzal07 on Apr 23, 2009
woah woah woah he didn’t create the war in vietnam, vietnamese natives did. He attempted to “help” with the war but in the end he just escalated beyond the need. He on numerous occasions took full responsibility for everything that went wrong during his administration. try looking up his interviews genious. what he did was wrong and he will surely pay for it if he hasn’t already. There was barely any chance for peace when you have budhists monks setting themselves on fire in the middle of public

LBJ made it CLEAR that he hated MLK to everyone on his staff during JFK’s administration. That doesn’t sound like a very convincing civil rights proponet. When have i ever pointed out JFK’s looks? Never. So how could you assume that i like him because of his physical appearance? Just like you assume things about American History. I like JFK because we share the same goals of world peace, advances in technology, and equality.
By Anzal07 on Apr 23, 2009
if he didn’t care for civil rights he would have never drafted the civil rights bill (that your hero LBJ passed), he would have never met with MLK several times, he would have never sent troops to escort James Meredith to college. shut the fuck up. i have had it with you and your “knownledge”. read a history book sometime, it will really help you.

the world knows he was a big womanizer. where you are wrong is it wasn’t marilyn monroe. it was an east german prostitue, judith exner (giancanni’s supposed girlfriend), and his office secs fiddle and faddle (the swimming pool girls). those are the ones who can be proved. now everyone has there own set of morals they choose to follow. i don’t care about his personal life i just know he was a great pres. and a great humanitarian. (yes i know the vietanam war was horrible) listen to his speeches.

(quote continued here) “who cares about the welfare of the people –
their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal,” then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.” [September 14, 1960] JFK.
love that quote.
By Anzal07 on Apr 23, 2009
for sure capitalism. “What do our opponents mean when they apply to us the label ‘Liberal?’ If by ‘Liberal’ they mean, as they want people to believe, someone who is soft in his policies abroad, who is against local government, and who is unconcerned with the taxpayer’s dollar, then … we are not that kind of ‘Liberal.’ But if by a ‘Liberal’ they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone (quote continued in other comment)

i have heard of them. never read them. i still know what its about. i do watch the news and go online. yeah it shows JFK’s growing involvement in the war but it also reveals Johnsons’s escalation in the war. was there a need to bomb north vietnam?? JFK said no, Johnson said Yes.
By Anzal07 on Apr 23, 2009
i can’t remember what you are talking about so refresh my memory. JFK’s original bills can be found in two places (among others) some private facility in Mass. (i wish i could remember the name), and the JFK Memorial Library.
By Anzal07 on Apr 23, 2009
Seriously Jello, please stop posting these bizarre hateful comments. They have no basis in fact, even JFK’s worst enemies wouldn’t try to smear him with the stuff you vomit up, because it’s so incredibly lame and outright false that they would just make themseves the laughing stocks of the country. I’m not going to argue points with you, because you can’t argue with an irrational person, but I’m just asking you this: please, stop shooting your mouth off and pick up a history book.
By grumpytosnowwhite on Apr 23, 2009
Jello brain,
Nam was in it’s infant stages when JFK was in and there is absolutely no proof whatsoever that JFK would have escalated the war. He told Cronkite, “It’s THEIR war, THEY are going to have to fight it”. Memorandum 263 – All troops home by the summer of “63. Many assassination theorists believe that one reason JFK was killed was that he opposed the war in Asia. Jellyroll you are all wrong, ZERO proof that JFK had Diem killed. WRONG all wrong. JFK RFK saved us from WWIII.

I love JFK but give Obama a chance, he just started you moron! After their first 50 days in office Obama has done much more than JFK. Obama has been compared to JFK for several reasons. Obama has inherited a much worse economy than JFK and probably a far more dangerous world than we had in 1961. In 1996 people said Tiger Woods would never compare to Jack Nicklaus. How wrong they were. Give Obama a chance, he hasn’t even been in two months. Have some patience you nitwit!
By Humes53 on Apr 23, 2009
Watch the JFK interview with Cronkite. “They will have to fight it themselves, it is their war”. Memorandum 263 stated that all troops home from Nam by the summer of 1965.
We would have had no Nam under JFK as we knew it. LBJ tore up the memo the weekend JFK was murdered.
By Humes53 on Apr 23, 2009
You moron Jelli JFK did not tap MLK that was the FBI. You talk with no proof. Get down on your knees and thank John Fitzgerald Kennedy for saving the world from WWIII during the Cuban Missile Crisis. If Nixon was in we may have gone kapooey! JFK was a fighter for the people against the rich. That is why they took him and Bobby away dum-dum!
By Humes53 on Apr 23, 2009
which government is more liberal: communism or capitalism? i know the right answer, do you? probably not. why do you put all the blame on JFK, he wasn’t the only one involved yet he being a person of great MORALS he put all the blame on himself in front of the country and the world.
