Okay, getting away from the political interpretations of this video, I have another question – why does that critic (I think that’s what he was) who’s sitting in the balcony at 4:40 cover his ears, and then continue harassing the singer? I don’t think his singing was that bad!

008chevy008,
I think 4:00 is just supposed to be a square-dance caller. No particular “song,” just the call.

xmetaljessex,
SURE, the ACLU fights for “TOTAL” freedom of speech, when it’s speech THEY AGREE WITH. They have issued more rulings, recently, STIFLING conservatives’ rights to free speech (for example, saying that a student DOESN’T HAVE THE RIGHT to wear a T-shirt in school which condemns homosexuality, or saying that ROTC doesn’t HAVE THE RIGHT to be involved on college campuses). (Caps are for emphasis only).

ACTUALLY, the ACLU fights for people’s rights to have total freedom of speech, even if it’s hate speech. You have it backwards. Sorry.

at 4:00 what is the song he sings
By 008chevy008 on Jul 12, 2009
Still one of the funniest cartoons ever made!! MGM and Warner Bros had it ALL OVER Disney, but look who ended up with the theme parks??

I remember seeing this as a kid in the 80′s. Having seen those old reel to reel projection movies in school, I remember how they would have fine threads stuck in the film. At 4:22 when the singer plucks the thread from the movie, I thought it was the cleverest gag I’d ever see in a cartoon. Still think it is actually.

GENIAL!!!!! TOTALLY GENIAL!!!

Simple, VeteranMedic –
A few people got offended, and the ACLU came in and said you can’t show these types of cartoons – somebody’s FEELINGS might be hurt – never mind that many more people probably find the cartoon absolutely hilarious!
By knightryderrwn on Jul 12, 2009
Amen, William1872 – some people just can’t take a joke anymore!!

I love these old cartoons, especially when they break the ’4th wall’ when they pull what is supposed to be a scratch on the print and it turns out to be like a wild hair. Excellent sense of humor!

I don’t know if it was a Samoan dance (I mean that literally. It’s obvious it is supposed to be a Pacific Islander dance of some sort, however), but when the bunnies pound him in the stomach and his lei (spelling?) flies up over his head, it is meant to represent a mushroom cloud that we, the US, nuked the livin’ shit out the Bikini Islands and others in the Pacific in the late ’40′s as a testing ground. ABSOLUTELY HILLARIOUS CARTOON. MY ABSOLUTE FAV!!!
By jaguilar300 on Jul 12, 2009
Are you serious?? A “pubic” gag? LOL! Didn’t know that.
By jaguilar300 on Jul 12, 2009
Can you imaging the painstaking effort the audio whizzes back then would have had to gone through to splice all this together and get it all to match. Even today, a good percentage of the population can’t upload a DIGITAL VIDEO W/DIGITAL AUDIO and get them to mesh!

These toons are ment to be unedited..Thank you so much for keeping the REAL version alive…
Dam the “PC”, Book burning Nazies that we have trying to repress Historical reality.

It’s “Largo Al Factotum” from “Barber Of Seville” by Rossini.

4:00 is really funny

I love how surprised his face gets every time he sees rabitts when he extends his arms! ROFL!!!
By neptune3doz on Jul 12, 2009
I LOVE THIS TOON.
The Samoan dance always cracked my ass up, and I still do it every time I’m at a pool party or some other tropically-themed event.
And good luck finding another cartoon that went through so many different styles of music at once, stereotypical and slightly offensive it may be.
Actually, screw the PC. This was just awesome.
