Sketch comedy shows seem to do this all the time- let’s take a 5 minute short, and make a full 1 1/2 hour film out of it.
As far as I know, in situations like this, only 1 in a million ever seems to work. We’ve seen all manner of SNL spinoffs just die. I think someone pointed out that The Blues Brothers was the only SNL skit that ever really worked.
Though the talking burgers remind me of the scene in Young Sherlock where all these desserts come to life and take down a young Dr. Watson.
