I reckon this is the best-ever episode, just ahead of ‘Home Brew’ (with ‘Bye Bye Blakey’ third).

Originally when the series was made, London transport wanted nothing to do with it, projecting the wrong image and all that so it was filmed in Essex. by the time the films were made, the huge popularity of the series made them change their tune, so the films were made at an LT depot which was closer to pinewood studios

sounds just like our Tule Fog here in the central valley of California, only they compare it to a blanket, you see NOTHING and I have had to “braille drive” more then I have wanted to, you always plan trips with NO LEFT TURNS!
By BETTYPRO40 on Jul 5, 2010

My Mum remembers Winters in Derby when it really WAS this foggy. The pollution and fog would mix together and create a visibility range of about 10 yards. I saw a picture of the Derby skyline in 1962 and the only thing you could see was the Cathedral Spire and a few tall chimneys sticking up out through the fog.
