  24. You were criticizing Bill Hanks on the basis of being a poor persuasive speaker. Of course he did affect people’s opinions and ideas, but as a comedian his principal goal was to make people laugh.

    A surer way to have a dick up your ass is to refuse to differentiate between comedy and serious discourse.

  25. I disagree, which is why I am making an argument here at all. All of us are preachers and teachers sometime. It is very important that we neither leave this field to “professionals”, nor think that we don’t have that effect on people, even if we didn’t mean to.

    One sure way to have a dick up your ass your whole life is saying: arguing and advocating is not my job. Yes it is your job. It’s the job you sign up for as soon as you leave your mothers womb, your first argument being “I’m hungry”.
