Ventriloquist Cat
March 6, 2009 – 3:54 pm
A cat, being chased by Spike, finds a gadget that lets him throw his voice and has great fun tricking the overly gullible dog into looking for him in a variety of dangerous spots, many of which seem to include dynamite.

this is my favorite avery toon. Even though it’s a cartoon, it’s incredible how he captures how cats and dogs really do act. look at 4:06 as the sneaky cat looks at spike. psike running from the other dogs, and when the cat is being chased up and down the pole. great stuff

Tex Avery’s cartoons are among the very few ones I feel comfortable letting my little grandchildren watch. They were great!

@patmathis:
oh? not one of his best? and you can’t bother to do a speck of pausing put to a date on your “1950′s bad”? btw, MCML = 1950. go read a book.
and which do you think _are_ Tex’s best, O, Benevolent Arbiter of Avery Greatness?
we would all be Elucidated by the Majesty of Your Opinion. the youtubes has the linkses.
please, use both side of the paper, if necessary.

The hell you talking about? Not one of his best? It’s hilarious! Especially the kite and flying duck part.

Meh, not one of Tex’s better films.
It’s not quite 1950′s bad, but it’s close. I couldn’t see what year this was released, but if I were to guess, I’d say around 48, or some time rounding up to the 50′s.
