Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but in a world where so few with children are actually parenting, how heartwarming to see Paris stand up first to affirm her daddy wasn’t strange. I think MJ did a lot right, but obviously making an impact on his daughter is a crowning achievement.

i remember the day the memorial i took place was the day i got grounded. if i wasn’t grounded, i would probably be doing something stupid, but because of my mom, i was touched by the memorial

Your page says your 27 & you use phrases like ‘pwned’? LOL… you’re very immature, & hypersensitive.
You’re a bit old to be saying things like ‘pwned’ but you’re also a bit young to be acting like such a bitter old maid. You’re a very meanspirited person, considering I’d sent u a PM in which I apoligized to u & complimented u for having the good sense to sub to Pat Condell. Chillnout, huh? U seem like u need to get out more. Oh well, I’m through trying to help u… hope u get better!

Most people? On what authority do you claim that?
It doesn’t matter either way, because we’re talking about right and wrong, not “worse”. You were wrong and I was right, and I pwned you for it, so go away.
By RichoRosai on Jul 20, 2009
By the way, most people would consider being vindictive worse than being angry.
By 5meopolis on Jul 20, 2009
Michael, why wouldnt you kick the guy in the ass?
) I mean, the words seem about right, but the person doesnt…

the presenters a dick
By tonihey on Jul 20, 2009
You thought you were smart and tried to call somebody on something, and you were proved wrong. I wasn’t angry, but vindictive.
Furthermore, Hitler was a gifted speaker too. Just because I point out one good thing about ONE speech by this guy doesn’t mean I’m saying he’s wonderful.
By RichoRosai on Jul 20, 2009
Why are you so angry? You could’ve just mentioned where the aliteration was. You’re right, there is aliteration there. But for crisakes, this is Al Sharpton, the man who first came to national fame via the Tawanna Brawley rape hoax, the guy who eulogized Khalid Abdul Muhammed (advocate of killing white babies), supports racist separatist Farrakhan, incited riots at Freddy’s Fashion Mart and Crown Heights in NYC which resulted in deaths of Jews, Hispanics, and ‘white interlopers’.
By 5meopolis on Jul 20, 2009
You must be a pathetic person to waste such time on a person who ostensibly doesn’t know what alliteration is. Ironically, you can’t even SPELL the word correctly.
And not only that, you fail to recognize the alliteration you claim to know so well (even though you spell it wrong five or six times straight). Answer: 4:20, you imperceptive insipid ignoramus.
By RichoRosai on Jul 20, 2009
What aliteration? You know what aliteration means, right? It doesn’t mean ‘literate’ or ‘articulate’ or ‘well spoken’. Aliteration refers to a series of words that begin with the same sound (e.g. Great galloping ghosts!, large leaping lizards, etc.). Where exactly does the aliteration occur in this speech?

Nothing shows how degenerate this Negro family is than having Al Sharpton giving the eulogy.
By GirlyNation on Jul 20, 2009
Yes, there’s something very cynical & innapropriate about Sharpton-a profoundly divisive figure who has done more damage to race relations than perhaps anyone in the past 25 years-praising MJ for bringing the races together. Sharpton has incited race riots in NYC which left people dead (look up the Freddy’s Fashion Mart or Crown Heights riots). He supports the black racist Farrakhan & the late black racist Khalid Muhammed, who openly advocated killing all whites (he eulogized HIM as well).

I was saddened at the news of his death, though I was never a fan of his music. The early J5 was kinda cool, but it was bubble gum pop, not ‘genius’. He made radio friendly dance pop, not works of great depth that might reasonably be called ‘genius’ or ‘beautiful’. He was the king of pop, sure, but pop music is by its nature highly commercial & shallow, as was MJ’s music, even when addressing important themes like race. Great speech, but Sharpton has way too much racist baggage to be respected.

“sickkat44″: Are you aware that “voice” is an area of concentration when someone studies music at a University or College? It’s an instrument within the field of music. Michael Jackson “was a singer but not a musician”? That is a non-sequitur.
By kevinneslund on Jul 20, 2009
MIchael Jackson played a big role in breaking down those barriers, he did it alone!
Donated 20% of him money to charity!(he’ll be out of debt shortly!)
What he meant was you broke down these barriers in your personal life AND globally!
MJ WAS ONE OF A KIND:
took breakdancing to a new level
INVENTED the moonwalk
reinvented musicvideos
Is the King of Pop
helped charities
concerts – before him, concerts were just plain singing, now there are fireworks and accessories – all cuz of him!

I’m White BUT I agree with the majority of what Sharpton says BUT there were other important musicians both White and Black who broke down racial barriers eg Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra just to name three out of a very long list. MJ was one of he greatest musicians ever. Anyone who disagrees has to be racist .He showed Black people could be extremely successful.I’m Irish and Ireland is a very racist country BUT MJ and the Jacksons were always very popular here since the 1970s.
By MickeyLynott on Jul 20, 2009
Great speech, but still, Sharpton is Sharpton. Lately he has done nothing but remember MJ. There were other entertainers before MJ that really broke racial barriers. I’m not saying he did nothing to promote racial harmony, I feel he did but without many other black legendary entertainers breaking down stereotypes and barriers, he would not be an icon.

Preach Al great speech.Don’t focus on the scars and thats what people need to do.Lay off.Nobody is perfect.
By reececup33 on Jul 20, 2009
duke ellington, nat king cole, lena horne, josephine baker, the nicholas brothers, bill robinson……true genius and groundbreakers. not only for their race, but for the world of entertainment. mj was a dancer and singer, not a musician. certainly not a genius. if sharpton didnt create some kind of controversy, he would be out of a job, wouldnt he? when dianna ross dies, is al gonna credit her for paving the way for the first lady? al is a buffoon. anyone with half a brain can see his game.
